What GravityLog is
GravityLog is a static reference site and set of client-side tools (Gravity Scanner, the Audit Policy Baseline Generator, and the Multi-Host Evidence panel). There's no account system, no login, and no backend server processing anything you do here — every page is static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript running entirely in your own browser.
Config files and uploads
When you upload an auditpol export, a Sysmon configuration, a PowerShell logging GPO export, or a Linux auditctl export to Gravity Scanner or the Baseline Generator, that file is read and parsed entirely in your browser. It is never uploaded to a server, transmitted over the network, or stored anywhere outside your own device — not by GravityLog, and not by any third party this site uses.
What's saved locally in your browser
Gravity Scanner saves the resulting toggle state — which subcategories are on or off — to your browser's local storage, so your configuration is still here the next time you visit instead of resetting every reload. This is not the uploaded file itself, just the on/off state it produced. Like everything else on this page, it's saved only on your own device and is never transmitted anywhere. You can clear it at any time with the "Clear and start fresh" link that appears when restored state is loaded, or the "Clear files / Reset" button in Gravity Scanner itself. Your light/dark theme preference is saved the same way.
Analytics
This site uses Umami, an open-source, cookie-free analytics tool, to understand aggregate traffic — which pages get visited, roughly how much, and from where. Umami does not use cookies, does not collect personally identifiable information, and does not track visitors across other sites. The data it collects is limited to things like page views, referring sites, browser and device type, and country-level location, and it isn't linked back to you individually. It isn't shared with or sold to any other third party.
Advertising
As of this writing, GravityLog does not run any advertising. If that changes, this page will be updated first to disclose what's added and what data, if any, it involves.
Hosting
This site is hosted as a static site; your browser requests pages directly from the hosting provider the same way it would for any other website. No server-side application code runs on GravityLog's behalf beyond serving these static files.
Cookies
GravityLog does not set any cookies of its own. Umami, described above, does not use cookies either. The only thing saved on your device is browser local storage for your Gravity Scanner config and theme preference, described above — a different mechanism from a cookie, not sent back to any server on every request, and never used for tracking.
Children's privacy
GravityLog is a technical reference tool aimed at IT and security professionals. It is not directed at children, and no information is knowingly collected from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If what GravityLog collects or how it's used changes — adding advertising, a different analytics provider, or anything else — this page will be updated to reflect it, with the "last updated" date above revised accordingly.
